On April 4th, Thursday, Kharkiv IT Cluster attended the presentation dedicated to the project of Municipal IT-Startup Center Startup Kharkiv which took place in the City Hall of Kharkiv. On April 4th, Thursday, the presentation dedicated to the project of Municipal IT-StartUp Center Startup Kharkiv was held in Kharkiv City Hall. Head of Departments of the City Council and specialised public institutions, representatives of higher educational institutions and youth organisations were presented at the event. Olga Shapoval, executive director of Kharkiv IT Cluster, also attended the presentation. "Kharkiv has to be the leading innovation center of the country. For three years we have been working in different directions. We conduct competition of innovative projects. We have published a book on the writing of grant applications, which soon will be presented in the libraries of the city and country. When we announced a municipal grant for the implementation of ideas, we faced with the fact that some projects were startups, "- said the head of the Department of Innovative Development and Image Projects of the City Council Victoria Gretska-Mirgorodska. According to Victoria Gretska-Mirgorodska, the Сity Сouncil, which will help to implement this idea to improve life in Kharkiv, may become the customer of the project to create a startup center.  For example, projects on infrastructure development, the creation of a "smart" city and other initiatives may be implemented with the help of the startup center. As explained by officials, Startup Kharkiv will be functioning according to international standards. It is pre-planned to sign memoranda of cooperation with three major non-profit startup centers of the world - in Amsterdam, Monte Carlo and Dubai. The system will combine higher education institutions, youth, industrial enterprises and departments of the City Council. The center will be located in the Netechenskaya embankment, in the historical center of the City. The total area of the premises is 307 square meters. It has two large halls - about 70 and 200 square meters in which it will be possible to create cabinets and a free zone. Premises are in a building condition so far but it was announced that it will be finished soon and first activities of the Center will start in Autumn 2019.
