Ukrainian companies are confidently integrating into the European business landscape, and CHM Software is one of the brightest examples of this journey.
CHM Software is a Ukrainian IT company developing software solutions that automate retail workspaces, simplify inventory and financial management, and enhance service quality. Its flagship product, PayKit POS, is a cloud-based business management and accounting system that is already successfully operating in EU markets.
This article explores the company’s European expansion strategy, partnership models, the role of Ukrainian identity in business, and insights from CEO Dmytro Agapov on how Ukrainian technology is reshaping Europe.
From Challenge to Opportunity
CHM Software’s entry into the European market did not begin with a grand strategy but with a challenge in 2022. When the war threatened the future of the business, the team chose action over emigration or suspension.
This marked the beginning of a new era: leveraging in-house developments, the company launched PayKit POS — a modern Android-based POS with a cloud accounting system. Lithuania became the first step into Europe, and today the local distributor has over 2,000 installations of the product.
Currently, CHM Software participates in the Seed of Bravery European program, which helps the company develop a structured go-to-market strategy for scaling into new markets.
"We realized that Ukrainian technology is in demand and trusted in Europe — we just needed the right partner to take the first step," says Dmytro Agapov, CEO of CHM Software.
Despite rapid growth, CHM Software preserves its core philosophy: money is not the goal but a tool for creating value. The company’s mission is to help retail entrepreneurs work more efficiently, maintain transparent accounting, and focus on people rather than paperwork.
CHM Software has always valued its team, but after 2022, the human factor became central to the company’s DNA. Dmytro Agapov does not maintain distance from the team, because business is, above all, about people: "The company is not me as the founder, not the brand, and not even the technology. It is the people who get up every day, work, and create meaning in what they do."
European Challenge and Ukrainian Response
Entering new markets is not without obstacles. European business is slower, more traditional, and more cautious. While Ukraine is accustomed to rapid digital solutions, in some EU countries documents are still sent by mail.
CHM Software chose a wise strategy — not to push, but to wait until markets are ready for change. At the same time, the company is developing a partner network, relying on the Ukrainian diaspora in Europe. Ukrainians living abroad help build trust, open local business communities, and become ambassadors of Ukrainian technology.
To simplify collaboration, the company registered a legal entity in Estonia — removing barriers for transactions and increasing trust among European partners. Meanwhile, the core team continues to work in Kharkiv, demonstrating the resilience of a business that grows even during wartime.
"So my advice to other Ukrainian entrepreneurs: don’t be afraid to show the world your products. Even if it seems that the market is already full, even if someone is 'bigger and stronger' — you have your own value that the world can appreciate," advises Dmytro Agapov.
Experience in developing in Ukraine gave CHM Software the most valuable thing — confidence in the competitiveness of Ukrainian technology. The company has proven that domestic solutions can compete with European ones and sometimes even surpass them in technological level.
International Plans and Focus on Partnerships
The company does not chase the number of markets — instead, it develops quality partnerships. CHM Software’s model involves distributor networks, where local businesses promote PayKit under their own brand (white-label model), while the Ukrainian team ensures technical stability and support.
Today, the company is preparing for launches in Moldova, Spain, France, Italy, and several other countries. Its ambition is to open 5–10 new markets annually, building an ecosystem in which Ukrainian technology becomes part of the European digital infrastructure.
Ukrainian Identity as Brand DNA
CHM Software is convinced: Ukrainian business today is a driving force of the European economy. Ukrainians bring speed, efficiency, and customer orientation — qualities that have been normal in Ukraine even before the war.
CHM Software openly tells partners that PayKit POS was developed in Ukraine, which is highly appreciated. At the same time, the company does not require that every European market display a “Made in Ukraine” label. The approach is different: trust is built through quality, stability, and professionalism, not through declarations. Ukrainian code, Ukrainian engineers, Ukrainian philosophy — this remains unchanged regardless of the market.
"I always say: the war did not break Ukrainian business — it made it stronger and even more determined. And it is this resilience, multiplied by technological excellence, that earns respect and trust in Europe," emphasizes Dmytro.
A Symbol of Faith in Rebuilding
This year, Kharkiv IT Cluster, in partnership with the European Commission, is creating a unique space — Digital Strategic Partners for Rebuild. At this event, CHM Software will present PayKit POS, demonstrating that Ukrainian business is alive, growing, and capable of being a partner that creates value for all of Europe.
"PayKit POS is a story about values and resilience, about technology born in Ukraine, and about European expansion through partnerships. We bring speed, service, and practical pragmatism to Europe — and see how the market responds," concludes Dmytro Agapov.
CHM Software proves that the war did not stop Ukrainian technology—it made it stronger, more mature, and ready to transform the continent’s economy.
